Experiments of DC Human Body Resistance I : Direct Current (DC) applications have become more prevalent in recent years, primarily due to the increased usage of renewable energy and energy storage systems. A review of the existing safety standards and other literature shows that there is limited experimental data on DC human body resistance.  

Preventing Liability for Component Part Suppliers and Their OEMs : Most electrical products contain many component parts. Assessing the liability between the raw material suppliers, component suppliers, finished product manufacturers, installers, and maintenance personnel is a very difficult legal proposition. This article describes the law and offers some practical recommendation on how some of these parties can minimize the risk of liability.

Update on IEC CISPR Subcommittee B Activities: This article describes the latest developments with CISPR Subcommittee B. It highlights the changes in Amendment 2 of CISPR 11 – Edition 6.0 released in January of 2019. It also summarizes the technical information from the CISPR SCB meeting held in Korea in October of 2018.

IEC 62368-1 AC Mains Port Protection Component Requirements : This article describes the MOV circuit design sequence for the AC mains port overvoltage protection of pluggable type A equipment. Places where the standard does not seem to use intuitive engineering approaches are highlighted.
